Bride and Groom walk each other down isle wedding Evergreen Lodge in Goveland, CA

Lisa and Chris got married at the Evergreen Lodge in Goveland, CA. They were on the older side of brides and grooms. (Not old, jut older than most first timers). Something I noticed with couples that are in their 30’s and 40’s when they get married. They stress a lot less about every little detail, and bring their own personal ascetic to the wedding instead. It’s quite nice really.

group shot 2 Students from Montclair Elementary School in Oakland CA. Talent Show Variety Show

First graders from Montclair Elementary School in Oakland California are putting together an act for the talent show.

To raise money, the program of the show is selling ads. The parents of these children are buying an ad, and they wanted a photo of the kids.

The act is the kids singing and dancing to “It’s a Small World.” The children are in costumes and outfits from cultures all over the world.

Photos from EFF benefit Geek Reading: Cory Doctorow's 'For the Win'"

Yesterday, the EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) hosted a talk by science fiction author Cory Doctorow. He gave an inspiring talk about how over enforcement of copyright could kill the freedoms we have on the internet. That might be a slightly glib summary. It is late.

The full audio of the talk is here:

I was the photographer for the event.

I got a nice shout-out from Cory here:

wedding Saint Seraphim Greek Orthodox Church Santa Rosa

Debbie and Mike got married at the Saint Seraphim Orthodox Church, a Greek Orthodox Church in Santa Rosa. Their wedding reception was at the Fountain Grove Inn, also in Santa Rosa.

A few things stand out for me in this wedding. One, the Greek Orthodox Church was gorgeous (you will see below). Two, the bride’s dress was lavender, or maybe purple. And three, there was a moment during the wedding ceremony when the best man and the maid of honor had to hold crowns above the bride and groom’s heads. This lasted for at least 20 minutes. It looked painful, holding the crowns for so long. There was a receiving line after the ceremony, and every person there joked about it with them.
