Shot a wedding last Friday at the Brazil Room in Tilden Park, Berkeley.

I’m just getting started with the editing, but this one caught my eye. The bride and her father are about to step out into the lawn for the ceremony. The very moment between one thing ending and another beginning, and they could not look more happy.

Oakland is jumping these days, and it never shines brighter than on the First Friday of every month when the galleries throw open their doors, and the streets of Uptown fill with celebration. I wanted to capture a piece of that.

I took my camera and my studio strobes, and I set them up in “The Eatup” (https://www.facebook.com/TheEatup at 2025 Telegraph Ave) I let anyone who wanted step on up and get their portrait taken. It was so fun I could hardly stand it.

These are the shots. I just want to say “Thanks Oakland for letting me take your picture. You are looking FANTASTIC!

A girl and her daddy. A wedding photo from Pacific Oaks Vineyard Estate in Aptos

Here is a shot of a fantastic and adorable little flower girl resting on her daddy after the excitement of the wedding ceremony and all of the formal pictures.

The photo was taken at Pacific Oaks Vineyard Estate in Aptos California.

There are no hard and fast rules in weddings, but 6 is a great age for flower girls. Old enough to follow directions, young enough to be so excited.

Intense and pretty Korean child in face paint at a party

This photo was taken at a child’s birthday party. There was a tea party (back when that meant a party where you drink tea and not a political movement) and a treasure hunt and face painting.

The girl in the photo is obviously of Asian descent. I think her heritage is Korean, but I am not sure.

For me the thing that sells this photo is her unblinking intensity. She’s a pretty little girl, and she is staring into your soul, perhaps finding it wanting.

beautiful photo of a pretty girl's eye

At the park on a nice sunny day with my daughter and some friends. Zaria is laying down on her mom’s la, and the sun is hitting her pretty blue eye just so.

This was one of those grab the camera you have with you moments, which was my phone. The iPhone does pretty well in macro mode actually, and it can digitally zoom for an even better effect.
