I shot a lot of wedding ceremonies in San Francisco City hall. It is gorgeous. It is a good place to elope. If you want to get married at San Francisco City Hall it only cost an extra $77. There is nowhere you can find a venue so pretty for so little.
The couple in this photo flew up from LA. After the ceremony I took them around the city to get a few more shots. You have to get Golden Gate Bridge for example. I love a lot of the photos from the day, but this one is my favorite. It was a sunny day in San Francisco. (weird, right? no fog) and a patch of sun on the stairs changed everything.

I shot the Electronic Frontier Foundation Pioneer Awards (EFF) Pioneer Awards yesterday. It was amazing. Lawrence Lessig spoke. Aaron Swartz was awarded posthumously. Glenn Greenwald and Laura Poitras were awarded and were there remotely. (Sad that they fear to travel to their own country because of government overreach)
I got a lot of amazing shots, event photography is one of my things. I’m going to turn most of them over to the EFF to use as they wish. I’m just going to share this one shot that I took for fun. The event was at The Lodge at the Regency Center, which is AMAZING. Passed by this place on Van Ness hundreds of times, never knew it was so cool. Big and old and classy and wood. Cage elevator with an elevator operator.
Around sunset the light started streaming in and I had a photographer fit. I was shooting just for the light. I caught this silhouette of the bartender and I like it a lot.

Shot a wedding last Friday at the Brazil Room in Tilden Park, Berkeley.
I’m just getting started with the editing, but this one caught my eye. The bride and her father are about to step out into the lawn for the ceremony. The very moment between one thing ending and another beginning, and they could not look more happy.
